The story so far

JammuBeat reported the launch in Jammu Smart City Hackathon: Six City Problems, and Registration Closes September 25. The programme is run by Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) and LEAD (LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue), with the Jammu Municipal Corporation as partner.

What's new

The organisers' page now shows a timeline that moves from sign-up to selection:

  • Registrations and outreach: September 17 to October 25
  • Shortlisting and categorisation: October 25 to 31
  • Mentorship and solution refinement: November 2 to 10

The page carries a banner reading “Registrations closed for 2026”. If you did not register, treat this as a programme to follow, not one to apply to.

What is being solved

There are six categories with three problem statements each: Urban Planning, Green Spaces and Public Realm; Cleanliness, Waste Management and Sustainability; Digital Governance, Mobility and Smart Infrastructure; Tourism, Heritage and Culture; Welfare for All; and Urban Resilience and Disaster Management. An Open Innovation Track accepts ideas beyond the listed challenges. Entrants are individuals, teams, startups and NGOs.

What the winners get

Three teams per category win prize money; amounts are to be announced at the Grand Finale. Winners also get mentorship, implementation support from JSCL and LEAD, incubation and potential investment support, and help from JMC and JSCL in moving working solutions into municipal use, including procurement.

What is unclear

The page lists the Grand Finale for the “last week of October”, which falls before the November mentorship phase, so we are not stating a finale date. Questions can go to LEAD at info@leadljk.in or +91 8899363103.
