Jammu’s Twin Lake Ultra is returning on 16 August with three distances that begin at Sidhra Golf Course and fan out towards the hills, Surinsar Lake and Mansar Lake. The second edition is built for runners who want more than a flat city route: the 14.5K finishes at First Viewpoint, the 25K at Surinsar, and the 50K at Mansar.
It is not a casual Sunday jog. The 50K starts at 4 AM and carries a 10-hour cut-off; the 25K starts at 5 AM with four hours; and the 14.5K begins at 6 AM with two-and-a-half hours. If you are deciding whether to enter, the honest starting point is not the view—it is whether you can comfortably train for the climbs, the distance and an early-morning departure.
Pick the distance, then read the clock
14.5K Hill Challenge: starts 6 AM, with a 2.5-hour cut-off. The route goes via Tutan Di Khui to First Viewpoint.
25K Challenge: starts 5 AM, with a four-hour cut-off, finishing at Surinsar Lake.
50K Ultra Challenge: starts 4 AM, with a 10-hour cut-off, finishing at Mansar Lake.
The organiser lists hydration points every five kilometres for all three routes. Entry is open across adult age brackets beginning at 18, and the published fees are ₹1,500 for 14.5K, ₹2,000 for 25K and ₹2,500 for 50K.
The logistics that make or break race day
All three categories start at Sidhra Golf Course. The 14.5K and 25K do not finish there: runners are to be transported from their respective finish points to Mansar Lake for the closing event, and return transport to Sidhra is planned after the programme. The 50K route reaches Mansar directly.
That makes this a better fit for runners who are happy with a point-to-point course, rather than someone expecting to leave a vehicle at the finish. The published information also includes an event kit, bib, post-race lunch, medical support, aid stations and photographs. For the 50K, one baggage point is planned at the 25K point; participants need to deposit it at the bib expo on 15 August.
What to do before paying
Read the category details carefully, particularly the start time and cut-off. Confirm your registration and event-day instructions directly with the organiser before travelling, and plan transport to Sidhra rather than assuming there will be a pickup. The event is being presented by Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation in collaboration with the Directorate of Tourism Jammu and the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority.
