J&K finished on top of the Wushu table at the National School Games in Ganderbal, winning the overall championship for the third consecutive year, Rising Kashmir reports.

The result

The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) event ran from October 15 to 20, 2026, with 45 teams (23 boys' and 22 girls') and 427 participants. J&K's tally was eight medals: one gold, two silver and five bronze. The report does not name the medallists, categories or venue beyond Ganderbal.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shreya Singhal attended the concluding ceremony and told the athletes the games offer young players a valuable platform to showcase their talent and progress to higher levels of competition.

A second table-topper

The Wushu result follows J&K's win in another discipline at the same Games: see our reports on the Taekwondo overall title and Aekita Kapoor's gold. The sources number the Games differently (Rising Kashmir calls the Wushu event the 78th, other reports the 70th), so we use the event's name only.
