Why a district meet matters
District championships are usually the first rung: a good result here is how a school athlete gets noticed for the next level. If you are a young runner or thrower in Jammu, the JDAAA, whose president is Varinder Kour and secretary general Vinod K Bhatia, is the body that runs these meets. Our district cycling coverage shows how many sports now have their own championship in the city.
