University of Jammu students can plan for a six-day pause: the university will observe its Diwali (Puja) break from November 6 to November 11, 2026.
What the circular says
The Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs, notified the break in a circular, as reported by Greater Kashmir on October 27. The notice states that "all the teaching departments in the main campus and off site campuses of the University of Jammu shall observe Diwali break" with effect from November 6, 2026 to November 11, 2026.
What is not in the report
- Whether any examinations or internal assessments fall in or around the break.
- The date classes resume. The break ends on November 11; the report does not say whether teaching restarts on November 12.
- Whether non-teaching offices follow the same dates. The circular, as reported, covers teaching departments.
What to do
If you have a lab record to submit, a project viva or a fee deadline close to those dates, check your department's notice board and the university's notification page rather than assuming the break applies to it. Hostel residents should confirm hostel closure dates with their wardens separately; the circular does not mention hostels.
We reported this from the published account of the circular; the university's own notification page was not available to us when we checked, and we will update this article if it adds detail.
