The Railway Recruitment Boards have opened applications for Station Master posts under CEN No. 08/2026, and the last day to apply is November 25, 2026 (11:59 pm). For a graduate in Jammu, this is one of the few railway posts that asks for a degree and starts at Pay Level 6.

  • Applications opened: October 27
  • Last date to apply: November 25, 11:59 pm

  • Age: 20 to 33 as on January 1, 2027, with 3 years' relaxation for OBC-NCL and 5 for SC/ST. One report lists 20 to 30, so use the official notice for your category.

Pay, fee and selection

Pay is Level 6 with an initial basic of Rs 35,400 a month plus allowances. The reported fee is Rs 500 for general candidates (Rs 400 refunded after the CBT) and Rs 250 for women, transgender candidates, ex-servicemen, SC/ST, minority and EBC candidates. Selection runs through a Computer Based Test, a Computer Based Aptitude Test (final merit 70% CBT, 30% CBAT), document verification and a medical test.

Don't get caught out

  • You may apply to only one RRB. The Jammu-Srinagar board is one of the options, but the board-wise vacancy count is in Annexure B of the official notice and is not confirmed here.
  • The total has been reported as 1,215, 1,250 and 1,265 posts; one report says a corrigendum dated October 27 corrected the count. Confirm on the official site.
  • These details come from third-party reports, not the notice itself. Read CEN 08/2026 on the RRB site before paying.
