Jammu and Kashmir's boys' and girls' basketball teams have left for the 41st Youth National Basketball Championship, which runs from October 27 to November 4, 2026. The Maharashtra Basketball Association is organising it under the Basketball Federation of India.
How the squads were picked
Both teams were cleared by the J&K Sports Council's screening committee before departure, and trained in a 15-day pre-competition coaching camp at MA Stadium in Jammu. Sachin Dogra coaches the boys and Manoj Kumar the girls; Rajni travels as lady manager. The screening was attended by J&K Basketball Association president Dr Vikram Handa, senior vice-president Ashok Singh Jamwal and general secretary Aman Sharma.
What is not yet known
The report does not name the players or list fixtures. For young players in Jammu the pathway it shows is concrete: a camp at a city stadium, a Sports Council screening and a place at a national event. For earlier city basketball results see our school sport roundup.
