In September we reported that J&K Bank was preparing to hire, with the notification due. It is now out.
What's new
The bank has announced 1,356 vacancies for J&K domiciles: 1,033 Banking Associates and 323 Probationary Officers. Online applications run from 7 to 26 November 2026 through the Careers section of jkb.bank.in. The examinations will be conducted by IBPS.
- Who can apply: only J&K UT domiciles with a valid domicile certificate, and a graduation degree in any discipline.
- Age: 20 to 30 as on 1 January 2026, with relaxation for reserved categories.
- Apprentices: candidates who completed apprenticeship training with the bank get one extra year of age relaxation and bonus marks of 2.5 per cent of the online exam's maximum for Banking Associate posts.
- Zone condition: selected candidates must serve at least five years in their initially allotted zone.
- PO selection: a preliminary exam, a mains exam and an interview. Candidates up to ten times the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the mains, and up to three times the vacancies called for interview.
Check before you apply
Fees, pay and category-wise vacancies are in the detailed notifications on the bank's site, which we could not open directly at the time of writing, so we are not quoting them. Dates for the preliminary exam and call letters have not been announced.
