Our Day 2 update left J&K's openers on 149 without loss. Day 3 turned that start into a 344-run opening partnership.
What's new
On Wednesday, November 4, at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar, Shubham Khajuria converted his overnight 80 into 190 off 330 balls and Qamran Iqbal went from 68 to 160 off 292. Khajuria fell to Sagar Udeshi, narrowly short of a double century; Iqbal followed, out to Ankit Sharma.
The middle order kept the pace: Kawalpreet Singh was unbeaten on 53, Abdul Samad made 37, and Sahil Lotra hit 30 off 26 balls. At stumps J&K were 491 for five, a lead of 106 over Pondicherry, with wicketkeeper Rydham Sharma on two. Udeshi took two wickets; Gaurav Yadav, Sagar Trivedi and Ankit Sharma took one each.
Why it matters
The report notes J&K had managed just two points from their first three outings, so the innings gives the side a real chance of pressing for an outright win in this Elite Group match. For young batters in Jammu, it is also a live lesson in building a big innings session by session.
