If you are one of the thousands of Jammu aspirants sitting on a JKSSB application and waiting for an actual exam date, the wait just ended. The J&K Services Selection Board has released a written-examination calendar, and the first papers are close: they begin on Sunday, 6 September 2026.
What the calendar covers
The schedule lays out OMR-based written tests running from 6 September to 15 November 2026, led by a large block of Health & Medical Education Department posts, along with other pending positions. A couple of the dated papers give a sense of the spread — for example, Para Medical Assistant is listed around 10 September and Junior X-Ray Technician around 16 September. What you should do now
Find your post's exact date on the calendar and mark it. The window is tight and staggered — don't assume all posts sit on the same day.
Watch for your admit card. JKSSB has said admit cards will be issued about seven days before each exam, so the download will open roughly a week out, not months in advance.
Use the runway. Early September is weeks, not months, away. If you have been revising loosely, this is the cue to switch to timed OMR practice.
One caution worth repeating every time JKSSB news breaks: the Board's own portal, jkssb.nic.in, is the only official source for the calendar and your admit card. Cross-check any date you see on an aggregator or a Telegram channel against the official notice before you plan around it.
This calendar is separate from the fresh JKSSB recruitment notifications that opened over the past month — this is about sitting the exams for posts already applied for. For a big share of Jammu's government-job hopefuls, it is the most useful piece of paper the Board has put out all season.
