The form is not open yet, which is the best time to sort your paperwork. JKSSB Advertisement No. 11 of 2026 covers Junior Engineer (Civil) posts, and applications are listed to open on November 30, 2026.
Quick facts
- Posts: 458 in total, reported as 282 in the Jal Shakti Department and 176 in Public Works (R&B).
- Pay: Level 6, Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 a month.
- Apply: online at jkssb.nic.in from November 30 to December 29, 2026.
- Fee: Rs 500 for SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD candidates; Rs 600 for others.
Who can apply
You need a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institute, a civil engineering degree from an Indian university, or AMIE Sections A and B, and you must hold a J&K domicile certificate. The maximum age is 40 on January 1, 2026, with relaxation listed as 43 years for SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS and OBC and 42 for persons with disabilities.
How selection works
A written objective, multiple-choice, English-only OMR exam is followed by document verification. Listings note negative marking of one-fourth of the marks for each wrong answer. The number of questions and total marks were not given in the summaries we read.
Documents to keep ready
- Matriculation certificate for date of birth.
- Valid domicile certificate.
- Category certificate in the prescribed format; certificates not in that format are reported to be rejected.
- Educational and technical qualification certificates, plus a live photograph and signature to upload.
Don't get caught out
Only one application is allowed per post item number. One aggregator lists a fee-payment deadline of December 15 alongside the December 29 closing date, so confirm both in the official notification. The JKSSB site was not reachable when we checked, so these details come from job-portal summaries that agree with each other; read the advertisement PDF at jkssb.nic.in before you pay. A related mechanical-engineering advertisement is already covered in our jobs listings.
