The Central Board of Secondary Education announced its 2027 board exam schedule on Friday, 6 November. Both Class 10 and Class 12 exams begin on 16 February 2027.

The dates that matter

  • Class 10: 16 February to 9 March 2027
  • Class 12: 16 February to 9 April 2027
  • Same-day clash to note: Painting and Physics both fall on 16 February
  • Scale: 83 subjects for Class 10, 121 for Class 12; over 26.5 lakh Class 10 and 19.8 lakh Class 12 students are registered nationwide

Why this date sheet is early

CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said: "The date sheets are being released 101 days in advance of the commencement of examinations." The board has left gaps between exams for subjects that students in both classes commonly take, and has considered the tentative schedules of major Class 12 entrance exams so students can prepare for those too.

A planning checklist for Jammu students

  1. Download the official date sheet from cbse.gov.in and mark your own subject dates, not just the start date.
  2. Count backwards from 16 February: about 14 weeks remain from today.
  3. If you are in Class 12 and also sitting an entrance test, line up both calendars now.
  4. Check with your school about practical and internal assessment dates, which this report does not cover.

The national report does not carry J&K-specific details, such as exam centres in Jammu; your school's notices will. J&K's own JKBOSE runs on a separate calendar.
