The story so far

Two University of Jammu admission processes that were due to close this week now land on the same Monday. JammuBeat earlier explained who can file an admission appeal and how the ₹580 process works. We also tracked the five-year BA.LLB cycle through its fourth allocation and final mop-up schedule.

What's new

The university issued two notices on 20 August. The appeal deadline has been extended from 19 August to 24 August 2026. Separately, the first BA.LLB mop-up round was allowed to continue through 21 August, while the second round for any seats left vacant has moved from 21 August to 24 August 2026.

Admission appeals: the form and fee have not changed

The extra days do not reopen admission or relax the appeal test. An applicant must already have submitted the online admission form, paid the registration fee and participated in the process. The grievance must be that the applicable admission statute or guideline was not followed in the applicant's case.

  • New last date: 24 August 2026.

  • Fee: ₹580 by demand draft in favour of the Registrar, University of Jammu, payable at Jammu.

  • Form: the prescribed appeal form remains available on the admissions portal.

  • Other rules: all terms in Admission Notification 17 remain unchanged.

Use the extension to name the exact rule you believe was missed and attach evidence. A general request for reconsideration is not the same thing as a rule-based appeal.

BA.LLB: the second mop-up is now Monday

For the five-year BA.LLB programme, the revised schedule is short:

  • First mop-up round: continued up to 21 August.

  • Second mop-up round for vacant seats: 24 August.

The postponement notice changes the dates, not the underlying admission method. Candidates should carry the documents and payment proof required by the earlier BA.LLB mop-up guidelines and confirm the remaining vacancies through the admissions portal before travelling.

Your Monday plan

If both notices affect you, do not treat 24 August as a buffer day. Prepare the appeal demand draft and supporting papers before Monday. BA.LLB candidates should confirm their venue, reporting window and document set from the programme's existing mop-up instructions. The university's own wording is that candidates should make the necessary arrangements for the revised schedule.
