The story so far
Last week we reported that the University of Jammu's BA.LLB third round had a hard deadline of Monday, 10 August, after a long admissions cycle that ran through extensions, a fee-hike protest and a move to on-spot counselling. Before that, we mapped the 335 seats across the five-year integrated law and B.Ed programmes.
The third round has now been and gone. On 12 August the university issued the notification that closes the book.
What's new
Notification No. DAA/26/3495, from the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, sets out a fourth and final online allocation round plus two offline mop-up rounds for the five-year BA.LLB at the main campus and affiliated colleges. Its own wording leaves no ambiguity: “The above notified rounds are FINAL and there shall be no admission after that.”
The immediate action is the one that expires first:
14 August — last date to edit your campus and college preferences. If you would rather be at The Law School than an affiliated college, or the reverse, today and tomorrow are when you say so.
17 August — fourth-round seat allocation declared, including self-finance seats.
18 August, 10:00 am–5:00 pm — accept the seat and present original documents for physical verification at the nodal department, The Law School.
18 August — last date to pay the admission fee online.
If you miss the fourth round
Two offline mop-up rounds follow, both run in person and both decided by merit on the day:
Round 1, 20 August: reporting, counselling form and document verification 10:00 am–1:30 pm; admissions granted in order of merit from 2:00 pm; fee payable the same day.
Round 2, 21 August: only for seats still vacant after Round 1, same timings.
22 August: last date for mop-up fee payment.
Two things that catch people out
The fee is electronic only. NEFT, UPI or net banking. No cash, no cheque, no demand draft — turning up with a draft on 20 August will not work.
Bring originals and a photocopy set. The printed online application plus every qualification and category certificate. Verification happens before admission, not after.

Why a fourth round exists at all
Rounds keep being added because seats keep coming back. A candidate allotted a place who does not pay by the deadline forfeits it, and that seat returns to the pool for the next round. That is why a programme as competitive as five-year law can still have vacancies in the third week of August — and why affiliated colleges are usually where the late openings are, rather than the main campus.
If an affiliated college is acceptable to you, the mop-up rounds are a genuine opportunity. If only The Law School will do, the 14 August preference edit is the decision point.
