Missed a government-college seat this session? There is one more door open in Jammu, it shuts on 18 September, and the form now costs ₹970.
The University of Jammu's College Development Council has issued a fresh admission schedule for non-government colleges for 2026-27. We covered the earlier reopening in Jammu University Reopens FYUGP and B.P.E.S Admission in Non-Government Colleges; this notice, numbered CDC/2026/2308-12 and dated 3 September, resets the window and adds a programme.
What's changed?
Two things. The two-year B.P.Ed is now named in the schedule alongside the Four Year Undergraduate Programme and the four-year B.P.E.S — it was not in the earlier notice. And the form now carries a late fee: ₹550 base plus ₹420 late fee, ₹970 in total.
Who is this actually for?
Anyone still without a seat in a JU-affiliated private college for this session. It is also, right now, the live route into B.P.Ed — the teaching qualification for physical education — which matters if you have been waiting for it to open.
What are the dates?
5 September, 10:00 am — offline application forms became available.
18 September, 4:00 pm — last date to file the form with late fee.
21 and 22 September — AAPHER Physical Fitness Test for two-year B.P.Ed applicants, at the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
24 September, 12:00 noon — final list of admitted candidates goes up.
25 September, up to 4:00 pm — complete the admission process at your college.
What are these three programmes?
FYUGP is the Four Year Undergraduate Programme — the NEP-aligned degree structure that has replaced the old three-year BA/BSc/BCom pattern at JU-affiliated colleges. B.P.E.S is the four-year Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports. B.P.Ed is the two-year Bachelor of Physical Education, taken after a degree, and it is the professional teaching qualification for physical education — which is why it, alone of the three, carries a fitness test.
All three here are being filled in non-government colleges affiliated to the University of Jammu, not in the university's own departments or in government degree colleges. Those run on separate schedules.
What to watch out for
The fitness test is not a formality you can skip — it is a scheduled stage with a fixed date, and it applies only to B.P.Ed applicants. Note also that this is an offline form, not a portal submission. Eligibility conditions vary by programme and college, and the Council directs applicants to jammuuniversity.ac.in for those.
