If a lectureship, a JRF or a PhD seat is on your plan, the next three weeks matter. Registration for the December 2026 UGC NET is open and closes on October 28 at 11:50 pm.

Don't get caught out
- Confirm the dates, fees and subject list on the NTA information bulletin; we read the reports above but not the bulletin itself, and our sources do not agree on every detail.
- Pick your exam city carefully. The reports do not say which cities in Jammu and Kashmir are available, so check the city list in the bulletin.
- Keep photo, signature and ID scans ready before you open the form, and do not wait for the last evening, when portals slow down.
- Do not confuse this with CSIR-UGC NET, which has its own schedule.
