The story so far
JammuBeat's student-budget guide to Patnitop priced the Skyview gondola at ₹1,099 plus taxes and warned travellers to confirm operations before leaving Jammu. The operator has now posted a definite closure window.
What's new
Skyview by Empyrean says its ropeway will remain closed from 19 August to 5 September 2026. The notice appears on the operator's own activity-booking page, so gondola tickets should not be treated as available during that period.
The 2.8-kilometre ropeway links Sanget Valley near Chenani with the upper terminal at Patnitop. Skyview describes the lower terminal as roughly a two-hour drive from Jammu. That makes the notice worth checking before a college group, family or couple builds a weekend around the ride.
What should you do?
Do not book the gondola for a date inside the closure window.
If you are planning for 6 September or later, confirm reopening with the operator before paying or travelling; a stated end date is not the same thing as a live operating-status guarantee.
Do not assume every other activity is open. The notice confirms the ropeway closure but does not provide a complete operating list for the rest of the destination.
For a same-day check, Skyview lists 1800-103-9747 and +91-1992-350-000.
The operator's general FAQ normally lists gondola hours as 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM and a return fare of ₹1,099 plus taxes. Those normal details do not override the current closure notice.
