Last week we wrote that the University of Jammu's on-spot admission rounds were live on a first-come, first-served basis — four parallel rounds across UG, PG, LL.B, LL.M, BA.LLB and the Poonch Campus, with the caveat that exact reporting dates kept moving as seats filled.
Two of those dates have now firmed up, and one of them is a hard stop.
The story so far
JU's 2026-27 admission cycle has run long. JUET-2026 results came out on 6 May, the main rounds ran through June and July against a backdrop of extensions and a fee-hike protest, and by late July the university had moved to on-spot counselling for whatever seats remained. That is where things stood when we last reported: real second chances available, but no fixed calendar to plan around.
What's new
The third round of seat allocation for the five-year BA.LLB programme was declared on 6 August, and every action attached to it lands on a single date — Monday, 10 August 2026:
Accept the allocated seat — online, by 4:00 PM. This is the step people forget.
Physical document verification — in person, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Do the online acceptance first; that window shuts an hour earlier.
Pay the admission fee — by the same day.
Miss any one of the three and the seat returns to the pool. There is no partial credit for having done two of them.
The second new date: induction and orientation for the five-year UG–PG integrated programmes runs 11 to 13 August at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium on the main campus.
What to carry to verification
No fresh document list has been published for this round, so work from the standard set — originals plus a photocopy of each:
Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates
Your JUET-2026 scorecard (downloadable from your login)
The seat-allocation letter printed from the portal
Category certificate, if claiming a reserved category
Domicile certificate
Character and migration certificates from your last institution
Passport-size photographs and a government photo ID
If a certificate is genuinely still with a previous institution, go anyway and ask at the counter. Turning up without a document is usually recoverable; not turning up is not.
If BA.LLB isn't your route
LL.B (3 years) and LL.M remain on the separate on-spot track notified on 30 July — offline counselling against vacant seats only, decided on the spot, with no saved queue position. Eligibility floors: 45% aggregate for LL.B in the general category, 40% for SC/ST. For UG and PG programmes outside law, it is 50% (45% for SC/ST).
The Poonch Campus special mop-up round notification is also out — worth knowing if you are from the western districts and would rather study nearer home than not study at all.
Before you travel
The admission helpdesk is +91 8601417126, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days. Call early rather than late — on a deadline day the line will not get quieter. Note too that new online registrations are closed for this cycle; existing candidates can still log in, but this round is not a way in for anyone who never registered.
Late rounds exist because seats genuinely fall vacant as candidates take up places elsewhere, which means a rank that looked out of reach in June is sometimes reachable in August. The catch is that they move fast and forgive nothing. A 4 PM deadline on a Monday is a real 4 PM on a real Monday.
