A new Dogri poetry book joined the shelf on Sunday 4 October: Sun Meri Dhiye ("Listen, my daughter") by Anuradha Attri, released in Jammu by Qalamkaar - The Writers' Group. The report does not name the venue.
Who was in the room
DIG Shailendra Singh was chief guest and Dogri writer Beena Gupta presided. Guests of honour were Rajinder Kumar Digra (CO-DIPR Jammu), writer Usha Moga and Kusum Dhar, president of the Jammu unit of Mahila Kavya Manch. Heena Mahajan, author of Jammu Di Chidi, was special guest, and Sahitya Akademi awardee P.L. Parihar attended.
How the book was discussed
Dr Anil Kumar presented a research paper and Dr Anil Verma reviewed the collection, a format that treats a new Dogri title as something to study rather than only celebrate. Mohan Singh Jamwal gave the welcome address and Sunita Kumari proposed the vote of thanks.
What is not known
The report gives no publisher, price or place of sale, so we have left those out. If you write in Dogri, local groups like this one are where launches and readings happen.
