The scoreline was 6-1. Khalsa Hockey Club, from Gol Gujral, beat MBS Hockey Club Simbal in the final of the Rotary Premier Hockey League on Sunday, October 18, closing a four-day tournament that brought eight of the Union Territory's top clubs together.
The league was organised by Rotary J&K Zone, District 3070, under the aegis of Hockey J&K. Its stated aim was to promote sport, fitness and a drug-free society among young people. The winners received the Rotary Premier Hockey League Trophy 2026; both finalists were given medals and certificates, and Rtn Anoop Gupta presented a cash prize to the winners and the runners-up. The report does not give the goalscorers or the match venue, and Jammu Tawi is named only as the host club for the final day.
Who was there
District Governor Rtn Anil Singla was chief guest and called sport "the best medium to channelise youth energy in a positive direction." Nagrota MLA Devyani Rana, the valedictory chief guest, handed out the prizes and said such tournaments "inspire our young generation to stay fit and away from drugs." Rtn Randhir Singh Goel received a lifetime achievement award for 50 years of Rotary service.
Why it matters
Club hockey rarely gets a full league in Jammu, and a tournament that pulls eight clubs from across the UT gives young players match time against sides they would not otherwise meet. If you play, the clubs named here, and Hockey J&K, are the place to ask about trials and the next season.
