J&K BOPEE has opened the third, or mop-up, online counselling round for GNM and ANM courses and for the GNM Lateral Entry course. The choice-filling window began at 11:30 AM on August 22 and closes at midnight on August 24, 2026.
The most important instruction is easy to miss: you must submit fresh preferences for this round. Choices entered in the first or second round are cancelled for mop-up purposes. If you do not file fresh choices during this window, BOPEE will not consider you for a new allotment; any seat you have already joined is retained.
Who can participate
The round is open to candidates who received no seat in the first two rounds, candidates who joined an allotted seat, and certain candidates who did not join or resigned after an earlier allotment. Candidates who qualified the relevant 2026 entrance test but did not take part in either earlier counselling round may also enter now after paying the ₹1,000 counselling fee.
There are restrictions for candidates allotted a seat in the second round or those who cancelled that allotment. In the GNM/ANM notice, a candidate cannot choose the same course at the same institution again, though other eligible choices remain available. The GNM Lateral Entry notice similarly restricts returning to the same institution. Read the rule against your own allotment history before filling choices.
Your four-step checklist
Open the official JKBOPEE portal and check the separately published seat matrix.
Pay ₹1,000 only if you are an eligible first-time counselling participant who skipped rounds one and two.
Enter a fresh, carefully ordered preference list. BOPEE says a seat allotted from these choices cannot be changed.
Submit before midnight on Monday, August 24, and save your confirmation.
Seats are first processed against the relevant category shortfalls. Remaining category seats may then be de-reserved under the applicable reservation law, and open-merit vacancies plus seats released through upgradation can enter the mop-up pool.
If an allotted candidate does not join within the later reporting window notified by BOPEE, the allotment and claim to that seat will be cancelled.
