IIT Jammu held its seventh convocation on 26 September 2026, the institute’s official convocation site confirms. The Indian Express’s September 28 report records 420 degrees: 209 BTech, 124 MTech, 23 MSc and 64 PhDs.

Who received the medals?

The official medal list names Vivek Kumar Shandilya for the President’s Gold Medal and Ayush Raj for the Director’s Gold Medal. It also lists Mohammad Shamsul Haq for the MTech Institute Gold Medal and Sheikh Aabid Nisar for the MSc Institute Gold Medal.

The ceremony therefore covers more than the undergraduate class: the reported totals separately identify taught postgraduate and doctoral degrees. These are graduation figures, not placement totals or newly available admission seats.

For prospective applicants

A convocation announcement should not be read as an admissions notice. Students considering the institute need to check the current notice for their own programme, including eligibility, selection route and deadlines. This report makes no claim that a medal or degree guarantees employment.
