IIM Jammu has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the United States, aimed at healthcare AI and innovation, PTI reported on October 18.
Where and who
The MoU was signed during the Global CEO Conclave at the IIM Jammu campus, organised with the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO). IIM Jammu Director Prof B S Sahay and Prof Rubin Pillay of UAB's School of Medicine and UAB Health System signed it. The two-day conclave began on a Friday and focused on healthcare leadership, hospital management and patient-centric, sustainable healthcare organisations.
What the agreement lists
- Faculty and student exchanges.
- Joint research in healthcare AI, machine learning, big data analytics and supply chain management.
- Work on healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Immersive learning with AR and VR.
- Joint academic programmes, conferences and knowledge exchange.
The conclave also ran seven CEO "war rooms" on topics including AI in healthcare, financial sustainability, hospital operations and patient experience, workforce retention and women's leadership.
What a student should know
An MoU states intent. The report gives no start date, number of exchange seats, eligibility rules or funding, so nothing here is an open application yet. Students interested in healthcare management or analytics can watch IIM Jammu's own notices for any follow-up.
