Allied & Healthcare students from the 2022–23 batch protested outside GMC Jammu on 28 September, seeking a written timetable for their mandatory internship, Daily Excelsior reported.
The students said they had completed the relevant academic requirements but had not been given a definite starting date. They described extra accommodation and travel costs, and uncertainty over completing their qualification. These are the students’ accounts, not independently audited findings about every candidate’s eligibility.
What they are asking for
The protest sought a clear start date and a timeline for subsequent degree formalities. The students said representations had not resolved the uncertainty.
In a separately reported statement, the All India Medical Students Association backed students from Jammu and other participating medical colleges. Rising Kashmir’s report attributes the estimate of an approximately eight-month delay to the association and students; this report does not present that duration as an independently verified administrative finding.
What remains unknown
Neither of the two reviewed reports carries the college administration’s response or a confirmed internship commencement order. They do not establish the administrative cause of the delay. A dated official notice, including who is eligible and when reporting begins, is the information students still need.
