In a major boost to graduate employability in the region, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) has rolled out a fresh basket of 12-credit skill minor certifications across its constituent colleges, including GGM Science College, SPMR College of Commerce, and Government MAM College.
What's New for standard BA, BSc, and BCom Students?
Under the National Education Policy (NEP) framework, students enrolling in three-year and four-year undergraduate programmes will now be able to pick hands-on minor specialisations in high-demand fields:
Data Analytics & Python Basics ( hosted at GGM Science College )
Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Management ( at SPMR College of Commerce )
Heritage Tourism & Dogra Archival Studies ( at MAM College )
Financial Literacy & Tally Prime ( across all campuses )
Why It Matters to Jammu Youth
Unlike conventional theoretical electives, these practical modules involve mandatory industry projects and 30 hours of lab or field work. "The goal is to bridge the gap between classroom degrees and actual job requirements in regional IT, trade, and tourism sectors," stated a senior CLUJ academic coordinator.
Registration for the skill minors opens alongside the odd-semester course lock-in on the official portal, with classes scheduled to begin in mid-September.
