Archery on October 11, Cycling on October 17: Selection Trials at MA Stadium, Jammu

If you shoot or ride and want a place in a J&K team, two selection dates are coming up at MA Stadium in Jammu. Both were announced in the last few days.

Archery: Sunday, 11 October

The Archery Association of Jammu and Kashmir, under the J&K Sports Council, will hold selection trials at MA Stadium on 11 October for the Senior National Archery Championship, to be held in Meghalaya from 11 to 18 November (Daily Excelsior, 6 October 2026).

• Open to archers who want to represent J&K at the national championship.
• Bring your Aadhaar card and a duly filled entry form.
• Report to coach Balram Singh at the venue.
• Not stated: timings, categories or divisions, and a contact number. Check with the association before you travel.

Track cycling: Saturday, 17 October

The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir (CAJK) will hold trials at MA Stadium on 17 October to pick the UT team for the National Track Cycling Championship 2026, which runs from 30 October to 4 November in Ranchi, Jharkhand (The Kashmir Images, 8 October 2026).

• Open to eligible Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior cyclists from across the UT.
• Riders report to the venue on the day and are assessed on skill, fitness and competitive ability.
• Not stated: reporting time, documents, fees or a contact.

Already held: U-16 basketball

The J&K Basketball Association held UT Youth (U-16) trials on 8 and 9 October at the Basketball Arena, MA Stadium, for players born on or after 1 January 2010. Shortlisted probables go to a pre-competition coaching camp at the same venue, pending J&K Sports Council approval, ahead of the Youth National Championships in Pune from 27 October to 3 November (Daily Excelsior, 23 September 2026).

Trials like these are the direct route to a national berth and, for many J&K athletes, to the sports quota that follows. Carry originals of any age or identity documents, and confirm timings with your association.
